Raising Emotionally Resilient Teenagers

The Centre London (which runs out of St Mary’s Church) is running a seminar for parents about bringing up teenagers. This may be of interest to our parents with older children, or for those with children in Years 5 and 6 thinking ahead.

If you would be keen to attend, do let us know. There are free spaces available for St Mary’s parents.

You can find more details here:

Bunny Hop fundraiser

On the last day of term, the Friends of St Mary’s ran a fundraising event to raise money for both Sport Relief and school PE equipment. The event raised a fantastic £1,100.

Thank you to all the parents and staff who organised the event, everyone who sponsored us, and of course the children for their energetic hopping!

Here are some pictures of the event:

Summer Term – welcome back!

We are really pleased to see you all again after the break. We hope you had a lovely Easter.

We’re very sorry that our website has been down for a bit, but as you can see we are up and running again.

Watch this space for more news of what’s happening at St Mary’s!

News from Beijing

Mrs Rickett is currently in Beijing, developing our links with a school in China and learning about the Chinese education system. She reports that the children do a whole hour of PE a day, and run non-stop for half an hour. The children work extremely hard to learn Chinese script, which takes them until they are 9 or 10 years old. They also learn their Maths by using algebra from a young age.

Here are some pictures of her trip so far:

Melting Pot Singing Event

On Friday, our Year 3 and 4 children took part in a Borough-wide singing event. They learnt a huge repertoire of songs, in 6 different languages, which they performed brilliantly in a concert at Paddington Academy. Well done – we are very proud of you.
