Today, Year 5 and 6 pupils competed against other schools in an athletics event. They did very well, coming 3rd out of 15 schools, even though they had not previously practised some of the activities! The staff also reported that their behaviour and conduct was excellent – well done.

We now have the report of our SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools), which shows that St Mary’s has been judged to be a ‘Good’ Church School. We are delighted with this outcome, which shows how well we are providing for our pupils.

The Centre are running a Parenting Seminar next week about how to manage children’s behaviour positively. It will be held at St Mary’s church on Thursday 22nd January, at 7.30pm. Miss Norman will be speaking about the topic from a school perspective and Jenny Peters will be speaking about managing children’s behaviour at home.
