We started the week learning about Mother Teresa of Calcutta in assembly, and what she thought was the most important human need.
Year 4 have been learning about India, and in particular, all about Hinduism. They have had two special visitors who taught them that there are over 330 million gods in Hinduism, and over a billion people follow the religion! They also learnt what life is like in India.
Year 1 have been learning about Indonesia, and really enjoyed hearing from their visitor:
Year 2 have been learning about Bangladesh and about Islam as the main religion in Bangladesh. They made roti bread, flags and waterlilies from clay (Bangladesh’s national flower) and had some very special visitors:
Year 6 learnt about China and Confucianism. Some of the Chinese children helped their classmates to practise writing Chinese characters and were visited by some of our parents, sharing their culture and practices with the class.
Year 3 learnt about Thailand, and Buddhism as practised in Thailand and had a special visitor talk about the culture of the country.
