International Week – Mosque Visitor

As part of International week, every class has been learning about the religion of the country they are studying. Today, we had a visitor from London Central Mosque to talk to Year 1 and Year 5 about Islam as practised in Indonesia and Malaysia. Suleiman talked about how the mosques in these countries are usually surrounded by water, and how there are more Muslims in Indonesia than anywhere else in the world (around 240 million!). Year 5 learnt about how Islam came to Malaysia through the trade routes between China and the Middle East. It was fascinating and we all learnt a lot!

Year 5 also had one of our parents visiting to talk about life in Malaysia.
