On Friday, Year 2 visited the Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasdon, West London, as part of their topic on Hinduism. When they got off the bus, they were immediately astonished by the size of the Mandir and how white and ‘shiny’ it was. They described it as ‘magnificent, amazing, beautiful’. Inside, they really enjoyed looking at the wooden carvings all over the walls, the colourful carpets and the marble ceilings. They watched a film about the making of the Mandir and also observed a prayer ceremony, comparing it with ceremonies in their own religions.
On the way, the children tried out our new air quality masks to help them breathe better as they travelled around the streets of London.
