National Air Quality Summit

This morning, children from our School Council and Green Team visited Mansion House in the City of London to speak at the National Air Quality Summit, hosted by the Lord Mayor of London and Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London. Mayors and representatives from around the country were present to think about how this issue can be tackled as a whole country.

Having been introduced by Mr Khan, each member of our team spoke about a different topic, from sustainable travel to greening of our site to air quality monitoring. They were confident and eloquent, and gave everyone lots to think about. The Mayor of the Midlands and the Mayor of Manchester also spoke and said how impressed they were with the children, and how concerned they were to make changes so our children and their children can grow up with cleaner air and better health.

It was a huge privilege to be involved! We also loved seeing the building, including the amazing gold and silver, and one of the Mayor of London’s new electric buses.
