Safeguarding

St Mary’s School is highly committed to safeguarding all the children and adults who are in our care. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Miss Granite (Head of School), and the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead is Ms Ascough (Executive Headteacher). Mrs Leith, our Learning Mentor, also works closely with Miss Granite to provide support for families and liaise with external agencies.

Please read our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy: Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy 2018 Approved

We follow the DfE guidance, Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2018): Keeping_Children_Safe_in_Education

It is extremely important that children also stay safe online. Please read our Online Safety Policy: Online safety policy 2018

Please note that mobile phones and cameras are not allowed in our Early Years Foundation Stage or in classrooms. Thank you.

If you have any concerns about a safeguarding issue, please see Miss Granite or Ms Ascough as soon as you can. If your concern is about a member of staff, please see Miss Granite or Ms Ascough straightaway. If your concern is about the Headteacher, please contact Sarah Bedford, the school’s Chair of Governors.
